Der Leuchtturm

Gedanken eines Weltwirrwesens

My inner critic

My inner critic has been loud these days
Twisting my head a thousand ways,
This one idea won’t safe us all,
The second one is doomed to fall.

The third is simply out of reach,
And anyways, what do you think,
to teach, to preach, to speak at all,
You privileged and lucky pal.

Go down that road,
You’ll miss this one,
Go down this road,
You’ll miss that one.

What do you value,
What do you choose,
Who do you safe,
Who do you loose?

Go make a choice,
And make it fast,
But make it right,
And make it last.

And make it big,
And make it loud,
And make it stick,
And make it– STOP!

Oh will you ever shut up!
Do you not see were this perfection leads?
If you want change,
why are you so afraid of changing?

The only thing you get,
from standing still and spinning,
Is blurry vision, dizziness
and ears ringing.

I know you are afraid of being wrong,
But the choice is not,
between saving this or that,
It’s between saving one or none.
